I forgot to say that I have an HP Pavilion 9680C with Win98 and Windows 2000 Server set up as a dual-boot. My problem was no sound on W2K OS, not the Win98 OS. Don't use the 56K modem so didn't test that but from other's comments, it sounds like it fixes that problem too. Also, Dell gives you all the software loaded on your box when you buy it. HP doesn't. I bet HP wins the prize for pissing off the most customers and getting the most tech support calls. Someone should track number of tech support calls per manufacturer to help with our buying decisions.
