Hercules Audio Driver

[not a brand new release, but certainly worthy if you have this hardware]

Note: Hercules bought out Guillemot so this is still the right driver.

For the following audio cards:

Fortissimo II series

Game Theater XP series

Fortissimo III 7.1

Digifire 7.1

This includes the DLS Sound Bank for hardware synthesizer and midi features.

When you install this:

DISCONNECT the internet so windows update doesn't try to update drivers on the fly, YOU DON'T WANT THEM TRUST ME ON THAT! [I installed the Windows update Crystal Audio card update they have once, big error, major pain to get rid of! and of course doesn't work with my Game Theater XP 7.1, so I had NO sound until I could toast it]

Be prepared to have it uninstall current driver and reboot, so basically be ready for a fresh boot and then run this again and it will do the install... then add your internet back...

I did this for my Game Theater XP with Windows XP and XP will tell you

they are unsigned (certified to work) just ignore it and continue with install, you'll have it try to do about 4 drivers in my scenario... once you get your new hardware is ready for use, you are finished.

You might want to note where the files were installed if Windows has trouble finding them, should default to a directory under:

C:\Program Files\Hercules
