The fabled "independent beta" driver that was released some time after the final official "last Aureal beta". Click to install in Windows 2K and then browse to and select C /Windows/System32/drivers as the location for the installation. I had already installed the full Aureal official beta with all the attendant utilities and secondary drivers, so this file merely upgraded what needed upgrading. It works flawlessly so far with my Windows 2K Pro, and I didn't even need the VIA motherboard patch. I sailed through every DIrect X test without a hitch and have zero fadeout or stuttering during video playback. This driver may also work for Windows XP.
